Subject: [Fmhc] presentations for monthly meetings

Hello everyone,

At the last monthly meeting we discussed the idea of incorporating more presentations from some of our community partners into our monthly meetings. Here are a few suggestions from some of our members and a couple of my own.

 1. County Veteran's Service Officers about services for homeless vets. 3
 2. Hungry and Homeless (the sleepout/fundraiser sponsored by 1st Lutheran and joined by several others this year)7
 3. The area Housing Authorities with an overview of housing programs 1
 4. The area community action agencies with an overview of their antipoverty and housing programs.6
 5. Dan Mahli with an update of progress on the 10 year plan. 4
 6. Clayton Nelson from the VA on how to recognize and what to do with a veteran at risk of suicide.5
 7. Low income property managers like NETA and DW Jones on renting to high risk tenants and working with housing programs. 2
Please respond to this email by rating the suggestions in order of interest (example; 3,2,6,5,4,1,7). Also include any other suggestions you may have and indicate whether or not you or your agency would like to make a 15-20 minute presentation on a topic related to homelessness. This would be a great way to increase awareness of your activities and programs.

Have a great weekend,
--
