Hey Media List!

Danie and I Met today and went over the Press Release for the 28th.

We decided that we need to look at approaching the different media
depending on what we want.

So, we took the Press release for the TV stations and made it short and
consise.

The one going to the Fargo Forum, however is longer and more detailed.

So, two releases were composed and they were sent out today.

Next Week we are working on the "Trick or Vote" and rides to the polls.

Watch your mailbox for drafts and ideas to respond to for next week's work.

Forum of the Candidates to Focus on
Social Issues and Core Community Values

The Uniting For Equality Collaborative is holding a Political Forum for
Minnesota Candidates on October 28th, 2004. The Forum is sponsored by
Uniting for Equality, Centro Cultural de Fargo-Moorhead, and the Somali
Organizing Committee.

This forum will feature Minnesota District 9A House Candidates and Clay
County Commission Candidates. All candidates have agreed to attend the
forum. It will run from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at Moorhead City Hall Council
Chambers, Thursday, October 28, 2004.

The forum is open to the public and the press. Candidates will be asked
six questions composed by the community, followed by an open town hall
session with the candidates. The questions were based on the input and
energy of hundreds of Moorhead residents that have taken the time to fill
out issue cards as a “listening tool”. The Collaborative conducted a
three-month Voter registration drive and took the opportunity to ask
people to fill out our “listening tools” in preparation for this forum.

The questions are connected to the six Core Community Values developed by
the community and are the base of the UFE Collaborative. Each Candidate
received the six questions ahead of time and they will be time to respond
to each question. The Moderator will ensure that the candidates are given
the allotted time to respond.
