[Vote] a bit of an update

Hi Chuck,
Thanks for the email update. In regard to the reduction in polling
places, the League of Women Voters RRV was responsible for the City of
Fargo's public forum on the topic. It seems the Cass County Auditor/City
of Fargo were going to make the changes without an opportunity for input
from anyone...period. LWVRRV 'forced' the public forum meeting to
happen, and there were a lot of questions. One of the questions that I
asked was "did you consider transportation access / bus lines when
selecting the new polling sites?" Mike Montplaisir said, "no, we
didn't" but his assistant quickly added that the sites were all on major
bus routes, she thought.

At the public meeting, the officials "assured" the audience that there
would be plenty of good publicity about the locations of the new polling
sites, etc. We'll see....

Subject: [Vote] a bit of an update

To all you wild and wacky voter collaborative list dwellers.

I feel the need to send out something since last Saturdays article in
the
forum. I must say it's been quite exciting around here since then.

There are a couple of things I would like to relay to you all. At the
time of this note and not counting today, it is now 65 days and 6 hours,
give or take a minute or two, till the big debate. We have been
progressing quite well to date, we have four students that are very
interested in doing this, we have been in contact with the Greater Fargo
Moorhead Economic Development Corporation, and the word is getting out.
If you haven't already, please mark your calendars for May 8th 6:30 to
8:00. I can't stress enough the need for a good turn out for this
thing.

The next voter collaborative meeting is March 11th at 4:00 here at the
PEPP office, please join us.

The other thing is to reiterate what the recent City of Fargo's City
Snapshot newsletter was talking about regarding the voting sites.

If you read it before you file thirteened it, you will have noticed that
the number of Fargo polling sites went from 38 down to 18. All of the
public schools were taken off the poll location maps for security
reasons.
It seems like an awful lot to dump, but what are ya gonna do?

Go to casscountynd.gov and click on "elections" to find your new voting
location, or call 241-5600.

That's all for now...

Cds
